James Stix

A learning technologist with a passion for tools that help humanity learn, create and collaborate in new and improved ways, James currently manages a service at the University of Edinburgh's centre for digital expertise, EDINA, based on Jupyter notebooks. The service is called Noteable, and provides a cloud-hosted notebook environment rich in features including auto-grading and course assignment life cycles, individual user authentication, language agnostic notebook compatibility, research tools and an ever-growing range of notebook libraries to suit all needs. James is an internationally experienced, multilingual economist and tech enthusiast with an academic and professional background across EdTech management, risk consulting and entrepreneurial management. His interests lie in analysing economic and business processes both globally and locally, with the aim of developing investment and bringing innovations to market which can improve the lives of individuals.
