Jed Brown

Jed is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at CU Boulder, where he leads a group that develops numerical methods and community software for physically-based prediction, inference, and design. He is a maintainer of PETSc and enjoys collaborating with researchers in applications ranging from earth sciences to materials and aerospace engineering, as well as mathematicians and statisticians to develop robust abstractions and sustainable solutions. He is especially interested in technical and social barriers and incentives in fostering active, inclusive, and equitable open source communities and reproducible research practices.
