Sylvain Corlay

As an open-source developer, Sylvain Corlay is very active in the Jupyter ecosystem, in the areas of interactive widgets, as well as language kernels. He is the co-creator of the VoilĂ  dashboarding system and the Xeus C++ implementation of the Jupyter kernel protocol. He was honored with the rest of the Jupyter Steering Council with the 2017 ACM Software System Award for Jupyter.

Sylvain is the founder and CEO of QuantStack, a team of open-source maintainers of scientific computing ecosystem. Beyond QuantStack, Sylvain does a lot of volunteer work for the community, as a member of the board of directors of NumFOCUS, the vice chair of JupyterCon. He also co-organizes the PyData Paris Meetup.

Prior to founding QuantStack, Sylvain was a Quant Researcher at Bloomberg and an Adjunct Faculty member at the Courant Institute and Columbia University.
