Jupyter in 2020

Fernando PĂ©rez, Afshin T. Darian, Brian E. Granger

Audience level:
Novice

Brief Summary

We will give a high level perspective on the project: where we are today, the vision that Jupyter as a technical project and as a community embraces and its role in the world today. Open source has become the norm and data science is now pervasive in society, but that only means our role is both richer and more complex. We'll reflect on where we are today, and imagine a bit where we can go next!

Outline

We will cover both some of the main themes of the project especially since our last JupyterCon in 2018, and look forward at both technical and community developments that open new directions for the project.
